Academic Support and Research Aide
Role Summary
The Faculty of Technology at Sri Lanka Technology Campus (Pvt) Limited is seeking Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants to support academic instruction, student engagement, and research activities.
Teaching Assistant: Key Responsibilities
- Assist faculty members in lesson planning, preparation, classroom management, and instructional activities.
- Support tutorial classes, laboratory sessions, and student project supervision.
- Collaborate with academic staff to foster interactive learning experiences.
- Participate in academic events, workshops, and departmental initiatives.
Teaching Assistant: Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with Honors (First Class or Second Class – Upper Division) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic knowledge of undergraduate engineering subjects and laboratory practices.
- Proficiency in preparing teaching materials and academic documentation.
- Good organizational and administrative skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic administration is an added advantage.
Research Assistant: Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting research, including designing/testing prototypes, data collection, and report preparation.
- Support research publications, grant-funded projects, and undergraduate research activities.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and adhere to safety procedures.
- Participate in research meetings, seminars, and workshops.
Research Assistant: Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with Honors (First Class or Second Class – Upper Division) in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong academic background in electronic circuit design, embedded systems, and microcontroller programming.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators).
- Basic knowledge of PCB design, soldering, and electronic hardware prototyping.
- Experience with C/C++, Python, or MATLAB is an advantage.
- Knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Proteus) is desirable.
- Ability to conduct literature reviews and prepare technical reports.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
