Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Finalization of monthly accounts and reporting to management within stipulated timelines.
• Managing all accounting transactions, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements.
• Computing taxes and ensuring timely submission of tax returns and payments.
• Preparation of annual budget forecasts and reporting on financial health and liquidity.
• Adhering to company policies.
• Independently finalizing year-end audits and preparation of year-end accounts.
• Coordinating with external auditors.
• Liaising with management and staff on day-to-day work.
• Implementing new systems and procedures to improve the company's financial structure.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Partly or fully qualified in CIMA/ACCA/ICASL.
• Minimum five years of experience in a private firm in a similar capacity.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles.
• Language proficiency in English, Sinhala, and Tamil is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of MS Office and accounting packages (Tally ERP) is a must.
