Accountant & Administration Executive
Company: M P S Food Products (Pvt) Ltd
Location: Arambekade, Kumburegama, Kandy
A manufacturing company engaged in tobacco and food-related products is looking for a responsible and experienced Accountant & Administration Executive to oversee the company's day-to-day accounting, manufacturing-related financials control, inventory, payroll, taxation, administration, and management reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with management and is expected to have a good understanding of the overall manufacturing and business process, rather than handling accounting alone.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete and accurate accounts recordings and oversee day-to-day financial transactions
- Monitor the overall manufacturing process from a financial and administrative perspective, including raw material usage, production quantities, wastage, finished goods, and product costs
- Maintain and reconcile raw material, work-in-progress and finished goods stock records
- Conduct regular stock checks and investigate stock variances
- Purchase monitors, supplier invoices, payments, customer accounts, and outstanding receivables
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for management review
- Prepare cash-flow reports, expense analyses, production costing, profitability reports, and other information required as needed
- Handle payroll preparation, attendance-related calculations, salary records, deductions, advances, overtime, and other employee-related payments
- Maintain compliance relating to EPF/ETF and other applicable employee-related statutory requirements
- Prepare and maintain information required for VAT, income tax and other applicable tax/ statutory submissions, and coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and relevant authorities when necessary
- Assist with annual audits and ensure supporting documentation and accounting records are properly maintained
- Monitor production-related expenses and assist in management in identifying unnecessary costs, wastage, and errors for improved financial control
- Maintain proper documentation relating to purchases, sales, stock movements, manufacturing, payments, and other operational activities
- Coordinate basic office administration, filing, correspondence, documentation, and record keeping
- Assist with supplier, customer, employee, and regulatory documentation where required
- Ensure confidential financial, payroll, employee, and company information are securely maintained
- Provide management with timely reports and information to support business decisions
- Assist in management in improving internal controls, accounting procedures, stock-control systems, and administrative processes
- Carry out other administrative and administrative responsibilities required for the smooth operation of the business
Requirements
- Qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Previous experience in accounting and administration; manufacturing-sector experience will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of bookkeeping, taxation, payroll, inventory control, and management reporting
- Ability to understand and monitor manufacturing-related stock and costing processes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Good organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and report directly to management
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and responsibility
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Candidates residing in or around Kandy / Arambekade will be preferred
