Malala Retreat, Hambantota is looking for a passionate and experienced "Chef" to join our team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating fresh, flavourful and presented dishes while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene and constancy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present high-quality dishes for our guests
• Plan and prepare daily menus based on guest requirements
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality and presentation
• Ensure proper food handling, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Manage kitchen supplies, ingredients and minimise wastage
• Monitor food costs and portion control
• Coordinate with the hospitality team to provide a smooth dining experience
• Introduce creative dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients where possible
• Maintain a well-organised and efficient kitchen

Candidate Profile

• Previous experience as a Chef in a hotel, boutique property, restaurant or villa
• Good knowledge of Sri Lankan and international cuisine
• Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Creative, organised and passionate about cooking
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• Flexible and guest-focused approach
