Assistant Factory Manager – Tangalle

A well-established Food Processing & Export Company is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Factory Manager at our recently established facility in the Tangalle area. The facility is engaged in cinnamon processing and currently employs around 35 production staff.

Key Role & Responsibilities

• Overall coordination of day-to-day factory operations.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores and Engineering/Maintenance functions.
• Manage factory administration and operational requirements.
• Coordinate with Government authorities regarding licenses, approvals and statutory compliance.
• Coordinate with Head Office and Management on factory-related matters.
• Monitor utilities, facilities and general factory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements and applicable food safety standards.
• Take overall responsibility for the smooth operation and development of the Tangalle facility.

Required skills and experience

• Degree/Diploma or equivalent qualification in Food Technology, Production/Operations Management, Business Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar managerial/coordination role.
• Experience in a food processing/export company will be highly advantageous.
• Experience in administration, stores, compliance and coordination with Government authorities.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take overall responsibility.
• Candidates residing in or around Beliyatta/Tangalle will be preferred.
