Assistant Manager / Manager - Placements & Student Experience

Role Summary

SLIIT - Northern Uni is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and passionate professional to lead our Placements & Student Experience function. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong corporate partnerships, fostering industry engagement, coordinating international collaborations, and creating meaningful internship and career opportunities for students both within Sri Lanka and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen strategic partnerships with employers, industry leaders, professional organizations, and higher education institutions, including initiating and coordinating Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to foster long-term collaboration.
  • Lead internship, placement, and graduate employability initiatives to enhance student employability.
  • Organize career fairs, employer engagement programmes, campus recruitment drives, networking events, and industry workshops.
  • Coordinate placement and internship activities, corporate partners, and international organizations.
  • Deliver career development programmes, including career guidance, CV and resume writing, interview preparation, and employability skills training.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with local and international universities, industries, and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate higher education pathways, student mobility programmes, and institutional collaborations.
  • Maintain placement records, employer engagement reports, graduate outcomes, and alumni networks to support continuous improvement and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in career services, student placements, corporate relations, industry engagement, recruitment, employability, or business development within a recognized higher education institution or a reputable organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, employers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Experience in coordinating with local and international universities, organizations, and professional bodies is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, networking, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • A proactive, results-oriented, and student-centric approach with a passion for enhancing student employability and career success.
