Assistant Planning Manager (Apparel Planning Operations)

Role Summary

Join a dynamic, Australian-owned sweater manufacturing business at the forefront of the apparel industry. Located in the Biyagama Export Processing Zone (EPZ), we combine premium Australian design with high-caliber Sri Lankan production. You will be responsible for leading production planning activities to ensure efficient capacity utilization and on-time delivery of customer orders. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to develop production schedules, monitor execution, resolve planning challenges, and drive continuous improvements in operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee production plans to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization.
• Coordinate with Production, Merchandising, Procurement, and other departments to align capacity with customer requirements.
• Monitor production progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to avoid delays.
• Optimize production scheduling to improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and maximize capacity utilization.
• Lead and guide the production team while ensuring accurate and timely planning data.
• Analyze planning performance and prepare reports to support management decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 05-08 years of experience in production planning within a manufacturing or garment environment, including supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, capacity management, and scheduling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
