Athleisure and Activewear Fashion Designer

FASHION DESIGNER – ATHLEISURE / ACTIVEWEAR

Join an exciting contemporary activewear and athleisure brand with a growing presence in Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand. We are looking for a creative and passionate Fashion Designer to help bring our vision to life through innovative, functional and commercially successful collections.

This is an opportunity to work closely with the product, merchandising and sourcing teams to develop on-trend designs that align with our brand direction and business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop seasonal athleisure and athleisure collections with a strong understanding of international consumer and market trends.
• Research trends, colours, fabrics, silhouettes, prints and graphics, with particular awareness of Sri Lankan, Australian and New Zealand markets.
• Translate trends into commercially viable products while considering target price points, functionality and manufacturing feasibility.
• Develop mood boards, colour palettes, product concepts and technical sketches, and support the development of clear technical details.
• Work closely with merchandising, product development and technical teams from concept through sampling and final product.
• Attend sample fittings, review prototypes and make design, fit and construction improvements.
• Work with factories and suppliers to ensure design intent is achieved through sampling and production.
• Contribute to a balanced product range covering core, seasonal and key fashion styles while maintaining a consistent brand direction.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3–4+ years' experience as a Fashion Designer, preferably in athleisure, sportswear or a related category.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, performance/stretch fabrics and commercial product development.
• Experience designing commercially successful collections for international markets.
• Strong understanding of range building, colour direction and product commerciality.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and related design software.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with merchandising, product development and manufacturing teams.
• Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design is an advantage.
