Jira Administrator (On-Premise & Cloud Migration Specialist)

Role Summary
The Jira Administrator manages, configures, and maintains Atlassian products (Jira Software and Jira Service Management) to support and streamline the bank's organizational workflows. You will be responsible for stabilizing and maintaining the current on-premise Jira environment while acting as the technical lead for the upcoming enterprise-wide migration to Jira Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
- System Configuration: Create and manage complex projects, custom fields, workflows, dashboards, and screen schemes.
- SDLC Optimization & Rapid Development: Manage SDLC optimization by facilitating quick developments and leveraging Atlassian tools and automation.
- On-Premise Maintenance & Cloud Migration Execution: Monitor system health, perform upgrades, troubleshoot existing Jira Data Center/On-Premise architecture, and execute the migration to Jira Cloud.
- User & Security Management: Administer users, groups, and permissions schemes in alignment with security compliance frameworks and data governance.
- Workflow Optimization: Analyze team processes to develop and implement efficient workflows that eliminate bottlenecks.
- Integrations & Apps: Manage, install, and configure Atlassian add-ons, plugins, and third-party integrations.
- Documentation & Training: Create training materials and documentation for SOPs and conduct training sessions for the Jira Cloud interface.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years as a Jira Administrator; hands-on experience with on-premise/Data Center environments; prior Jira Cloud migration experience preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of JQL, automation rules, Atlassian tool administration, and Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA).
- Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, problem-solving, excellent communication, and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
- Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred). Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM and banking sector compliance is a plus.
