Role Summary

The Department of Disability Studies, Faculty of Medicine, University of Kelaniya, invites applications for 01 Audiometrician for the Hear Care Sri Lanka project. This is a full-time, project-based role with a two-year duration (extendable).

Location

Ayati National Centre for Children with Disabilities, Ragama, Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing the preschool hearing screening program.
  • Conduct community-based preschool hearing screening in Gampaha District.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records, project databases, and documents.
  • Perform daily equipment calibration, checks, and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with local suppliers for annual electroacoustic calibration and servicing.
  • Assist with hearing aid programming, troubleshooting, servicing, and routine maintenance.
  • Organize community hearing screening sessions at designated Gampaha District locations.
  • Support project monitoring, data collection, reporting, and milestone achievement.

Requirements/Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • A Certificate Course in Audiometry, OR
  • A pass in the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination (Biological Science Stream).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with hearing screening equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in hearing aid programming, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary or community outreach programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and parents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer applications.
