Key Responsibilities

• Perform paint rework and touch-up activities in accordance with established procedures and quality requirements.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting through sanding, cleaning, masking and material application.
• Carry out colour matching and paint mixing activities to achieve consistent paint quality and finish.
• Inspect painted surfaces and identify defects such as scratches, dents, paint imperfections or contamination.
• Execute corrective actions to ensure vehicles meet customer and quality expectations.
• Operate and maintain spray guns, polishing equipment, sanding tools and related painting equipment.
• Ensure proper handling, storage and usage of painters, thinners and related materials.
• Maintain records related to paint rework activities and paint material consumption.
• Follow standard operating procedures, quality guidelines and paint shop safety requirements.
• Adhere to workplace safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe handling of chemicals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Coordinate closely with PDI, Quality Control and Assembly teams to ensure timely completion of work.
• Support trainee technicians and contribute to team capability development.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3/4 or equivalent qualification in Automotive Painting, Auto Body Repair or a related technical field.
• 1+ years of experience in automotive painting, refinishing or paint rework operations.
• Strong understanding of automotive paint preparation, application and finishing processes.
• Experience in colour matching, paint mixing, polishing and paint defect rectification.
• Ability to use painting and refinishing tools and equipment effectively.
• Good understanding of safety procedures and chemical handling practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
