Bi-Lingual Coordinator (Tamil & Sinhala)

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate project activities across target communities in the Ampara district
  • Act as the primary liaison between government officials, divisional secretariats, local authorities, and DLFF programme teams
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with beneficiaries, community leaders, civil society organisations, and multi-sector stakeholders
  • Facilitate community meetings, awareness sessions, and multi-stakeholder coordination workshops
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits and document project progress, findings, and outcomes
  • Collect, compile, and analyse data for monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting
  • Support development and implementation of project work plans, field schedules, and activity budgets
  • Maintain accurate records, case files, and documentation of all project activities
  • Prepare timely field reports, meeting minutes, and progress updates for the District Manager and Country Director
  • Ensure community accountability mechanisms are upheld and beneficiary feedback is captured and addressed

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field (required)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of project coordination experience within an NGO, INGO, or government setting
  • Fluent in Tamil, Sinhala, and English – spoken and written (MANDATORY)
  • Valid Motor Vehicle / Riding Licence (MANDATORY)
  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive
  • Proven experience coordinating with government departments, provincial councils, or public institutions
  • Strong community engagement, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with disability inclusion, gender, and livelihoods programming is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Ampara district and Eastern Province
  • Residents of Ampara and Eastern Province are strongly encouraged to apply

Compensation & Benefits

  • Basic Salary: LKR 70,000
