Role Summary
The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and overall operational direction for the Company's business divisions, ensuring the successful delivery of marine, civil construction, real estate, and related projects. The incumbent will oversee business operations, financial performance, project execution, resource management, and business development while ensuring sustainable growth, operational excellence, and compliance with corporate governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all business operations.
- Develop and implement business strategies, operational plans, and corporate objectives.
- Oversee project delivery, financial performance, profitability, and resource utilization.
- Monitor business performance through key performance indicators and operational reporting.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, investors, government authorities, consultants, and strategic partners.
- Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, financial, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead organizational development, business expansion, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee risk management, corporate governance, and organizational sustainability.
- Mentor senior management teams and foster a high-performance organizational culture.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 15 years of senior management experience within construction, infrastructure, marine engineering, or property development sectors, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership role.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline. MBA or Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
- Age: 40 to 60 years.
- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken); Sinhala is essential and Tamil will be an added advantage.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, ERP systems, project management software, and financial reporting systems.
- Key Competencies: Strong strategic leadership, financial management, decision-making, negotiation, communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.
Salary/Benefits
The successful candidates will be offered opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects across Sri Lanka and the Maldives. A Starting Salary of 400,000 LKR.
