Project Manager - Marine & Civil Construction

Role Summary

The Project Manager will lead and manage the successful execution of marine and civil construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 15 years in project management within marine and civil construction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Age: 40 to 55 years.
  • Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken); Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, MS Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, and other project management software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of projects.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Manage project teams, contractors, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, quality, and timelines, taking corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, engineering standards, health & safety regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, government authorities, regulatory bodies, and the Board of Investment (BOI).
  • Review and approve project documentation, technical reports, progress reports, and commercial submissions.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage procurement planning and oversee contract administration.
  • Report project performance and key milestones to senior management.

Salary/Benefits

Starting Salary: 500,000 LKR.
