Extension Officer - Collection Center Nuwara Eliya

Key Responsibilities

• Introduce new farmers to the collection center.
• Engage in agricultural activities and meet with farmers and government organizations to stay updated on the latest agricultural technologies.
• Encourage current farmers to improve their crop's harvest and quality.
• Ensure sustainability and consistency of quality and availability of fruits and vegetables.
• Visit agricultural sites and document maintenance.
• Identify new sourcing locations and products for supermarkets.
• Work closely with farmers.
• Communicate product conditions to the collection center team.
• Identify current issues, future risks, and opportunities for the head office team.
• Conduct farmer and center staff quality-related training programs.
• Lead agricultural projects while monitoring and documenting progress.
• Ensure stock maintenance for agricultural projects.

Requirements

• Diploma in Agriculture with sound technical knowledge and management skills, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of work experience in a similar capacity.
• Good communication skills (English/Sinhala/Tamil).
• Knowledge of the internal and external environments of the industry.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Task prioritization, time management, and the ability to multi-task while being a team player.
• Ability to work independently to meet deadlines.
