Sales Manager - Commodity Trading Division
The KALA Group of Companies (PVT) LTD is building a strong footprint in Sri Lanka’s commodity market, focusing on sugar, pulses, flour, cooking oil & spices. We are seeking a results-driven Senior Sales Manager with industry expertise, experience in similar fields and a strong track record in high-volume sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth in key commodities including sugar, dhal, flour, cooking oil and spices.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market share across wholesale and corporate segments across the island.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and bulk buyers.
- Ensure timely collection and recovery of payments from customers.
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, and finance teams for smooth operations.
- Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and competitor activities in local and global commodity markets, and support import and local purchasing decisions based on market performance and price fluctuations.
- Achieve sales targets while maintaining profitability and healthy cash flow.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales (FMCG / commodity trading preferred).
- Strong knowledge of sugar, pulses (dhal), flour, cooking oil and spices markets.
- Understanding of import processes, costing, pricing structures will be an advantage.
- Proven ability to handle high-volume sales and corporate clients.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate competitor activities and market trends.
- Experience in credit control and customer KYC.
- Degree or professional qualification in Business, Marketing, or related field.
