Community Mobilizer - ACTED Sri Lanka
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Community Mobilizer to support the Project Implementation operations in the area.
Location
Batticaloa: Vaharai, Oddamavadi, Valaichenai, Manmunai North, Eravur Pattu, Manmunai West, Eravur Town & Kaluwanchikudy
Mullaitivu: Maritimepattu and Puthukkudiyiruppu
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Implementation: Support effective planning, coordination, and timely implementation of project activities.
- Community Engagement and Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate engagement with communities, Fisheries Societies, and government authorities.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL): Support project monitoring and data collection to measure progress and capture lessons learned.
- Documentation, Reporting and Compliance: Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with ACTED policies and donor requirements.
- Logistics, Administration and Operational Support: Coordinate operational and logistical support for efficient project implementation.
Requirements/Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Diploma/Advanced Level qualification (minimum 2–5 years of experience) OR Degree in Aquaculture, Environmental Science, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field (minimum 1 year of experience).
- Experience in coastal ecosystem management, community development, and enhancing livelihood resilience.
Technical Skills:
- Background in Community-Based Approaches, capacity building, and assessments.
- Experience working with CSOs/CBOs and managing civil society grants.
- Ability to collaborate with local government authorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office (SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data/file management systems.
Core Competencies:
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; proficiency in Tamil is a requirement.
- Proficiency in Sinhala is an added value.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Possession of a valid motorbike license is an asset.
