Container Yard Manager

IWS Logistics (Pvt) Ltd a subsidiary of IWS Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to take responsibility for the efficient and effective management of our container yard operations.

Yard Manager – Container Yard

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and communicate with shipping lines, customers and other stakeholders.
• Represent the company in discussions and negotiate effectively with shipping lines and customers on operational matters.
• Plan and optimize the stacking, positioning, receiving and dispatch of containers.
• Develop effective yard plans to maximize capacity, minimize unnecessary container movements and improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with operations, transport, documentation and other relevant departments to ensure smooth container handling.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards and operational requirements.
• Monitor yard productivity, identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements.
• Prepare operational reports and provide management with regular updates on yard utilization and performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport, Port Operations or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years' relevant experience in container yard, depot, terminal or logistics operations, with experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong understanding of container handling, yard planning and container stacking principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, particularly when dealing with shipping lines and customers.
• Strong planning, organizing and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.

Added Advantage

• Experience working with container yard management, stacking or yard-planning software.
• Ability to use software systems to plan and optimize container stacking and yard utilization.
• Experience dealing directly with shipping lines, freight forwarders and major customers.
