Job Title: Credit Controller (Western Region)

Role Summary

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Credit proposals and provide Credit Risk Opinion, recommendations and approvals within the Board approved Credit Policy and Lending Guidelines in support of business growth.
  • Oversee all credit risk related functions and administration of advances of the allocated commercial portfolio including timely review of credit facilities.
  • Ensure a healthy advances Portfolio is maintained through pre and post credit portfolio management.
  • Oversee all credit risk related functions and carryout periodic random credit audits on the commercial portfolios to ensure that decisions have been taken based on all relevant information.
  • Comply with regulatory and statutory guidelines and ensure that internal controls and good governance of the region is adhered at all times.

Requirements

  • A Diploma or the Certificate in Banking & Finance from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka, a Diploma in Credit Management from a recognised professional institute or an equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 10' years' experience in managing a credit portfolio in a reputed organization, preferably in Banking or finance industry inclusive of 3 years in approving credit facilities.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of policies, regulations and good practices related to granting and managing a commercial portfolio including credit risk management.
  • Good interpersonal skills and leadership qualities while being a motivated team player with the ability to adapt and contribute in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala. Tamil language proficiency will be an advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and computer systems is mandatory.
