Data Governance Lead

Role Summary

We are looking for a Data Governance Lead to build and implement a practical governance operating model. This role focuses on ensuring trusted master data through established ownership, stewardship, and decision-making frameworks to drive business adoption.

Key Responsibilities

• Design the governance operating model, including roles and decision-making rights.
• Manage the nomination and onboarding of Data Owners and Stewards.
• Maintain registers for data ownership and attribute authority.
• Develop stewardship workflows, including exception handling, SLAs, and escalation paths.
• Collaborate on business glossary and critical data element definitions.
• Work with DQ/BI teams to define and report on Data Quality KPIs.
• Facilitate governance forums and track all decisions and actions.
• Monitor governance trends and report on them bi-weekly.
• Support organizational change management and business adoption.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance or MDM governance.
• Deep understanding of Data Owner and Steward operating models.
• Proven experience designing exception-based stewardship workflows.
• Expertise in survivorship rule documentation and version control.
• Experience in attribute authority, decision management, and DQ governance.
• Ability to design DQ KPI frameworks integrated into business reporting.
• Excellent facilitation and executive communication skills.
• Capability to translate governance principles into functional operational processes.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Profisee or Microsoft Purview, and exposure to global or regional governance programs.

Employment Details

This is a 2-year part-time contract with a hybrid work arrangement. Working hours are 4 hours per day, Monday through Friday.
