Key Responsibilities

• Drive daily administration and operational health of production, test, and development database environments, with proactive monitoring to detect and fix performance issues before they impact the business.
• Design and maintain HA clusters, failover replication, and disaster recovery nodes; automate and test backup/restoration strategies to meet RPO and RTO mandates.
• Produce bi-annual reports on storage capacity, compute utilization, infrastructure refresh needs, and licensing optimization.
• Administer access controls, permissions, and encryption in line with regulatory frameworks, and execute non-disruptive engine upgrades and security patches.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting to Software Engineering, Application Support, and Business Intelligence teams during deep-dive investigations.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years as a production DBA in a mission-critical corporate environment, with a track record managing multi-terabyte databases and large-scale migrations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or equivalent (vendor certifications like Azure DBA Associate, OCP, or PostgreSQL/EDB, plus ITIL, are advantageous).
• Expert command of SQL Server, PostgreSQL, EDB, or Oracle, with mastery of mirroring, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, replication, and SAN optimization.
• Strong proficiency in T-SQL, PL/pgSQL, or PowerShell for automation, plus advanced Excel/Word for capacity planning documentation.
• Analytical rigor for diagnosing deadlocks and corruption, calm decisiveness during critical outages, and strong cross-team collaboration and executive communication skills.
