Requirements
- NVQ Level 4 in Dental Surgery Assistant or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) as a Dental Surgery Assistant is an added advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a dental clinic or hospital (fresh candidates may also apply).
- Good knowledge of dental instruments, materials, and infection control.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Hospital Information System (HIS) will be an added advantage.
- Neat appearance, positive attitude, and commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize instruments, materials, and equipment before and after dental procedures.
- Assist the dentist during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and ensure infection control standards.
- Prepare dental materials and take impressions, X-rays, and photographs as required.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Ensure the dental operatory is clean, safe, and well-stocked.
- Provide chairside support and ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Collaborate effectively with dentists and other members of the dental team.
