Assistant Manager – International Trade Operations

Role Summary: Hiring for a reputed Dubai-based FMCG company operating in Sri Lanka.

Colombo, Sri Lanka

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customer agreements, sales orders, returns, and pricing details accurately through the ERP system.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Planning, Warehouse, Logistics, and Finance teams to ensure smooth order execution.
• Track customer orders from production readiness through dispatch and delivery.
• Follow up on customer payments and obtain Finance clearance prior to dispatch.
• Provide customers with timely delivery schedules, shipment updates, and estimated arrival times.
• Prepare and share shipping, export, customs clearance, and delivery documentation.
• Coordinate with shipping companies to obtain Bills of Lading and other required documents without delay.
• Ensure order accuracy, revenue recognition compliance, and proper maintenance of customer and shipment records.
• Support process improvements to reduce delays, errors, rework, and financial claims.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Supply Chain, Finance, or International Trade; an MBA will be an advantage.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in trade operations, import/export documentation, shipping, or commodity trading.
• Experience in agricultural commodities, bulk shipments, grains, or oilseeds will be highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UCP 600, ISBP, Incoterms 2020, Letters of Credit, CAD, collections, and trade finance documentation.
• Familiarity with GAFTA, FOSFA, commodity contracts, and chartered-vessel operations will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Aspect, or similar platforms.
• Prior experience working with Middle Eastern clients or regional stakeholders will be considered a distinct advantage.
