Role Summary

The Director of the Center for Data Science (CDS), Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, is a part-time position for a period of three years.

Responsibilities

• Exercise, performance and discharge of powers, duties and functions conferred under the Constitution of the Center.
• Handle overall academic, administrative and financial management of the Center.
• Maintain records pertaining to finances and inventories.
• Convene meetings of the Board and committees, and maintain proceedings.
• Ensure submission of annual reports, annual accounts, and progress/evaluation reports.
• Represent the Center at relevant committees or boards.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified permanent member of the academic staff of the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Science, University of Colombo.
• Must be at or above the level of Senior Lecturer.
• Must hold a PhD.
• Preferably have academic training and proven interest in the subject of Data Science.
