Role Summary

Provide strategic and clinical leadership across the Hemas laboratory network, ensuring high-quality, accurate, and timely diagnostic services. Lead clinical governance, quality assurance, and accreditation initiatives while driving laboratory growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead clinical governance, quality assurance, and accreditation initiatives ensuring compliance with regulatory and patient safety standards.
• Drive laboratory growth through service expansion, advanced diagnostics, automation, and continuous process improvement.
• Oversee laboratory operations, financial performance, and quality indicators to ensure operational excellence and sustainable growth.
• Lead and develop multidisciplinary laboratory teams while fostering strong collaboration with clinicians, hospital management, and external stakeholders.

Requirements/Qualifications

• MBBS with MD/ D.Path/ MD (Clinical Pathology) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification with full SLMC registration and Board Certification as a Clinical Pathologist.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in laboratory medicine including at least 3 years in a senior leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in managing multi-site or laboratory chain management, with exposure to ISO 15189/CAP accreditation, laboratory automation, digital pathology, or Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is an added advantage.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and change management skills.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel across laboratory locations as required.
