Director of Group Internal Audit and Risk Compliance

Head of Group Internal Audit / Risk & Compliance (Puttalam District)

Seeking a Head of Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance for one of our clients, a leading manufacturing company in Puttalam District.

Reporting functionally to the Chair of the Audit Committee, the Head of Internal Audit will provide independent assurance on governance, risk management, and internal controls across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the annual risk-based internal audit plan.
• Report audit findings and recommendations directly to the Audit Committee.
• Evaluate internal controls, governance processes, and risk management practices.
• Lead investigations relating to fraud, whistleblowing, and anti-bribery matters.
• Maintain the Group Risk Register and support enterprise risk management initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the internal audit team.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and report on progress.

Qualifications & Experience

• Member/Fellow of CA Sri Lanka. ACCA or CIMA with relevant listed company experience will also be considered.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
• CIA and/or CISA qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, or External Audit, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of corporate governance, risk management, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
