Purpose of consultancy

The Family Planning Association of Sri Lanka (FPA Sri Lanka), the pioneer in family planning and reproductive health services and education is an accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) in the United Kingdom. As part of its commitment to inclusivity and leaving no one behind, the FPA Sri Lanka is organizing specialized training sessions focused on disability inclusion, rights, accessible communication, and the intersection of SRH and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) for persons with disabilities to enhance service delivery.

Scope of Work

The consultants will be responsible for conducting dedicated 3-hour training sessions covering the following modules:

• Session 01: Understanding Disability, Rights and Inclusion
• Session 02: Communication, Outreach and Accessible Information for Persons with Disabilities
• Session 03: Disability-Inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and SGBV
• Session 04: Integrating Disability Inclusion into Programme Implementation

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional experience in disability inclusion, human rights advocacy, Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, Gender-Based Violence, including social sector work.
• Education: Master's level or above in Disability Studies, Human Rights, Public Health, Gender Studies, Social Work is preferred.
• Language Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in both Sinhala and English languages (Trainings are to be delivered in Sinhala language).
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the rights of persons with disabilities, inclusive development frameworks, accessible communication, and inclusive SRH/SGBV service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct the assigned 3-hour training sessions on disability inclusion, rights, accessible communication, and/or SRH/SGBV for persons with disabilities.
• Develop and deliver engaging presentations, training materials, and interactive exercises in line with the training design principles.
• Facilitate interactive learning sessions, including group discussions, case studies, and practical exercises.
• Provide technical expertise on mainstreaming disability and ensuring barrier-free access to health and social services in the Sri Lankan context.
• Respond to technical questions raised by participants and provide practical guidance on inclusive programming.

Location & Remuneration

• Locations: Chintana Eco Retreat – Nainamada
• Remuneration: LKR 30,000 per 3-hour session.
• Duration: The consultancy shall be valid only for the days on which the respective training sessions are conducted.
