Role Summary

Recruitment for the post of Electro-Medical Technician Grade III in the Management Assistant Technical Segment – 03 Service Category of the Ministry of Health and Mass Media – 2026.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Qualifications:
  
  • Having passed the G.C.E. (O/L) Examination in six (06) subjects at one sitting with credit passes in Sinhala/Tamil/English Language, Mathematics and two other subjects; OR
  • Possess National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 03.
  • Having completed one of the following courses that includes National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 05:
    • Two-Year Part-time National Certificate in Technology (Electrical & Electronic Engineering)
    • Two-Year Full-Time National Certificate in Industrial Technology (Electrical & Electronic Engineering)
    • Two-Year Full-Time National Diploma in Electrical Technology
    • Two-Year Full-Time National Certificate in Electrical Technology
    OR
    Having completed one of the following courses at National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 05 offered by the Industrial Engineering Training Institute in Moratuwa:
    • Electronics Craftsman Course
    • Electronics Course
    OR
    Having completed one of the following courses at National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 05 offered by an institution under the purview of the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission or an institution recommended by the said Commission:
    • National Diploma in Electrical Technology (Full-Time)
    • Diploma in Electrical Technology
    • Diploma in Electrical Technology (03 Years Part-Time)
    • Higher National Diploma in Electrical Technology
    • National Certificate in Electrical Technology (NCIT – Electrical)
    • National Diploma in Electrical Technology (03 Years Part-Time)
    OR
    Having Level 06 qualifications in Bio-Medical Equipment Technology certified by the National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority or awarded by an institution under its purview; OR
    Having followed a National Technical Certificate Course in Electrical/Electronic Technology offered by the Government and fulfilled the qualifications specified under Public Administration Circular No. 46/90 VI dated 30.10.1990 in accordance with Public Administration Circular No. 22/2015 dated 17.11.2015.
• Experience: Experience gained in the relevant field from any Government institution or recognized private sector institution will be considered an additional qualification for the post of Electro-Medical Technician.
• Physical Fitness: Every candidate should possess sufficient physical and mental fitness to serve in any part of Sri Lanka and to perform the duties of the post.
• Other:
  
  • Should be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Should be of excellent character.
  • All the qualifications specified under Sections 2.1 to 2.5 required for recruitment to the post should have been fully satisfied in every respect as at 12th October, 2026.
• Age:
  
  • Minimum Age: Not less than 18 years.
  • Maximum Age: Not more than 35 years.

Note: The application fee is Rs. 1,000.00, payable at any branch of the Bank of Ceylon to Account No. 7041318 maintained in the name of Secretary, Ministry of Health and Mass Media, at the Thaprobane Branch of the Bank of Ceylon. The receipt obtained must be firmly affixed within the space provided in the application. The application fee will not be refunded for any reason or considered valid for any other examination or purpose. It is also advisable to retain a copy of the application and the receipt for the payment.
