Key Responsibilities
- Carry out the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of elevator systems in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and scheduled servicing to ensure the safe and reliable operation of elevator systems.
- Respond promptly to breakdown calls, diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, and carry out effective troubleshooting and repairs.
- Repair or replace defective elevator components, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, functional testing, and statutory compliance checks on elevator systems.
- Prepare and maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records, inspection checklists, and job completion documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with company policies, occupational health and safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in good working condition.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service while maintaining positive relationships with clients at project and service locations.
- Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors, and other departments to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
- Participate in technical training programs and continuously update technical knowledge on new products and technologies.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management in line with operational requirements.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or Level 4, NDT, HNDT, or an equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in elevator installation, maintenance, servicing, modernization, or repair work.
- Sound knowledge of passenger elevators, freight elevators, Machine Room-Less (MRL), traction, and hydraulic elevator systems will be an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and service manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency breakdown calls when required.
- Possession of a valid riding and/or driving licence will be an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel island-wide and work extended hours when necessary.
