Engineer / Assistant Engineer (Elevators)

Key Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Division Head and coordinate with the General Manager, HR Department, and other internal departments.
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate technical staff, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Support pre-sales engineering activities including cost estimates, BOQs, technical proposals, and project schedules.
  • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and monitor elevator installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget in compliance with standards.
  • Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, resource utilization, and KPIs.
  • Investigate customer complaints, coordinate warranty claims, and maintain technical records.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support product development.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and quality systems.
  • Coach, train, and develop technical staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • HNDE, NDT, HND, or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in elevator installation, maintenance, modernization, or project engineering.
  • Sound knowledge of passenger, freight, MRL, traction, and hydraulic elevator systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Experience in project planning, BOQ preparation, estimation, costing, and scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software is an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform under pressure.
  • Possession of a valid riding/driving licence with willingness to travel island-wide.
