Engineer / Assistant Engineer (Elevators)
Key Responsibilities
- Report directly to the Division Head and coordinate with the General Manager, HR Department, and other internal departments.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate technical staff, subcontractors, and project teams to ensure efficient project execution.
- Support pre-sales engineering activities including cost estimates, BOQs, technical proposals, and project schedules.
- Plan, coordinate, supervise, and monitor elevator installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget in compliance with standards.
- Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, resource utilization, and KPIs.
- Investigate customer complaints, coordinate warranty claims, and maintain technical records.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support product development.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and quality systems.
- Coach, train, and develop technical staff.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- HNDE, NDT, HND, or a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in elevator installation, maintenance, modernization, or project engineering.
- Sound knowledge of passenger, freight, MRL, traction, and hydraulic elevator systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience in project planning, BOQ preparation, estimation, costing, and scheduling.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar design software is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform under pressure.
- Possession of a valid riding/driving licence with willingness to travel island-wide.
