Job Summary
The Junior Conveyancing Paralegal will support the firm's Australian conveyancing team by assisting with day-to-day administrative and legal support tasks for residential sale and purchase matters. The role involves working under close supervision to develop technical knowledge and practical skills in accordance with firm procedures and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing and progressing residential conveyancing matters under supervision.
- Open new matters and maintain accurate records within the case management system.
- Prepare, review, and update conveyancing documents, correspondence, and legal forms.
- Assist with contract reviews, Section 32/Vendor Statement reviews, and administrative checks.
- Communicate professionally with clients, real estate agents, banks, brokers, councils, and owners corporations.
- Monitor critical dates, including finance dates, cooling-off periods, and settlement dates.
- Provide timely updates to clients and referral partners.
- Maintain accurate file notes and task updates.
- Assist with property searches, certificates, settlement preparation, and post-settlement administration.
- Follow internal workflows, checklists, and quality control procedures.
- Escalate legal, technical, or client-related issues to the supervising Conveyancer or Solicitor.
- Gradually build the capability to manage a portfolio of up to 30 active conveyancing matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- LL.B. qualification or a minimum of one year of experience in conveyancing, legal support, or a property law environment.
- Previous exposure to Australian conveyancing or property law is an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and data entry.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using case management systems, legal technology, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn Australian conveyancing procedures and comply with firm policies.
- Professional, reliable, and collaborative work ethic.
