Role Summary
Ceylon Steel Corporation Ltd., the pioneer in the steel manufacturing industry in Sri Lanka, is looking for team-spirited, result-oriented individuals with passion and dynamism to join our expansion programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, implement, and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System in compliance with national and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across all departments and plant premises.
- Investigate workplace incidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Ensure compliance with legal safety regulations (Factory Ordinance, Fire Regulations, etc.).
- Conduct safety training, fire drills, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar safety role within a large-scale industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Ex-armed forces personnel (Sri Lanka Army/Navy/Air Force) with safety-related experience will be given priority consideration.
- Strong knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) laws, Factories Ordinance, and best industrial practices.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train and motivate teams.
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
