Manager - ESG Unit

Role Summary

The Manager - ESG Unit is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Bank's ESG framework, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, regulatory requirements, and international sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Bank's ESG strategy.
  • Coordinate ESG-related initiatives across departments.
  • Monitor and report on environmental impact, social responsibility, and governance practices.
  • Lead the preparation of ESG disclosures, sustainability reports, and stakeholder communications.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for internal and external ESG-related engagements.
  • Facilitate staff training and capacity building on ESG matters.
  • Track emerging ESG trends and regulatory changes.
  • Support the Bank in achieving environmental and social commitments.
  • Ensure ESG data collection and reporting processes are audit-ready.
  • Assist in setting ESG performance indicators and monitoring progress.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Management, Sustainability Management, Business Administration, Finance/Banking, Economics, Risk Management, Accounting, Law, or Social Science. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Professional Qualifications: Certificate or diploma in ESG/Sustainability from a recognized body. Preference for qualifications from CA Sri Lanka, CFA Institute, IBSL, or CIMA.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-5 years of post-degree experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate governance, risk management, compliance, banking, or finance.
  • Competencies: Strong data analysis, project management, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Age: 45 years or below as at the closing date of application.
