Executive – Material Development
Location: Based at Ranala
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the testing process for fabrics to ensure all fabric developed meets the required quality standards as specified by relevant customers (e.g. testing for shrinkage, weight, spquality, colour assessment etc.).
- Liaise with suppliers for any technical issues related to the fabrics developed, providing them relevant feedback.
- Participate in pre-production meetings with suppliers for fabric to be produced and conduct further visits to the mills as and when required to check on the initial production output in instances where large quantities have been ordered so as to ensure fabric is produced to the required quality.
- Conduct factory visits to advise/guide and facilitate the resolution of relevant problems related to fabric issues so as to ensure methods are found to overcome fabric issues and optimize fabric usage.
- Liaise with suppliers in order to develop the fabric whilst negotiating for cost effective prices and forward the details to relevant parties.
- Liaise with suppliers to develop fabric for trend collections which should be both innovative & perform according to customer requirements whilst working on collecting regular & innovative material for the material library.
- Liaise with the material technologist at Fabric PP meetings & fabric issue solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers in order to develop lap dips & submit to customers or Business Development teams within the given time frame.
- Develop the fabric with the supplier according to the Customers test requirements whilst ensuring MOQ & MCQ and Price validity are secured from suppliers.
- Share fabric and relevant details to the procurement division in order to raise purchase orders on a timely manner.
- Liaise with suppliers and comment on bulk dye lots in a timely manner in order to ensure a smooth bulk execution pertaining to the same.
- Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Textile & Clothing
- 2–3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced apparel manufacturing environment.
