Key Responsibilities Areas

• Financial Accounting & Reporting: Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with IFRS/SLFRS; perform Expected Credit Loss (ECL) and Effective Interest Rate (EIR) calculations; monitor standard updates; develop accounting policies; oversee management reporting; ensure robust financial controls; support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes; promote technical excellence.
• Audit, Risk & Compliance: Coordinate external and internal audits and ensure audit readiness; liaise with auditors and provide technical analyses; monitor audit findings and implement action plans; support enhancement of internal controls and financial risk management processes.
• Regulatory Reporting & Governance: Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Sri Lanka and other regulatory reporting requirements; ensure timely, accurate, and complete regulatory filings and statutory submissions; coordinate regulatory reviews, inspections, and information requests; strengthen governance, transparency, and compliance frameworks.
• Systems, Data Integrity & Process Improvement: Oversee reconciliations between operational and financial systems and ensure data accuracy; investigate and resolve discrepancies impacting financial reporting; drive automation and process improvement initiatives; collaborate with IT, Risk, and Business teams on system enhancements and reporting improvements.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8 years of relevant experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, ideally in the financial services or microfinance sector.
• Membership in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CPA, or an equivalent professional accounting body.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• A postgraduate qualification or MBA will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/SLFRS regulatory requirements, financial reporting requirements, financial reporting and controls.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
