Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee month-end and year-end financial close processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
• Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial adjustments.
• Analyse and monitor monthly financial performance, variances, and results to provide insights and recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with Australian statutory and tax obligations (BAS/IAS, Payroll Tax, Superannuation, and Gaming Tax).
• Prepare and finalise year-end tax workpapers and supporting documentation for external audits.
• Process and review acquisition, disposal, and sale-related accounting entries.
• Support the senior finance team with financial reporting, compliance projects, and ad-hoc initiatives.
• Stay updated with changes in Australian accounting standards and tax legislation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or part-qualification in CA, CIMA, CMA, AAT, ACCA, or CPA.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 4 years in a senior-level role, preferably supporting Australian/New Zealand clients.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and tax compliance, with hands-on experience in year-end processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
