Role Summary
The Group Director Medical Services (GDMS) provides visionary leadership for all medical services across the Lanka Hospitals Group. The role is responsible for strengthening clinical governance, ensuring patient safety and quality, engaging medical talent, achieving revenue targets and driving excellence in healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for all medical services across hospitals, laboratories and outreach centres.
- Strengthen clinical governance, patient safety, quality and accreditation standards.
- Lead, engage and develop consultants and clinical teams to deliver excellent, patient-centred care.
- Drive clinical performance, achieve revenue targets and continuous quality improvement.
- Champion medical education, innovation and professional development.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and build strategic partnerships with stakeholders.
- Oversee risk management, medico-legal matters and ethical clinical practice.
The Ideal Leader
- MBBS qualification and registration with the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) is mandatory.
- Additional qualification in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration or MBA is an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years of clinical experience with 5+ years in senior medical leadership.
- Proven track record in clinical governance, accreditation, patient safety and leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong strategic, analytical and leadership capabilities with a passion for excellence.
