Role Summary

The Environment Manager will lead the Company's environmental management function by ensuring compliance with environmental legislation, regulatory requirements, and international best practices. The incumbent will develop and implement environmental management systems while promoting sustainable construction practices across marine, civil construction, and real estate development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management plans and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and risk assessments across project sites.
  • Coordinate Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and environmental monitoring programmes.
  • Liaise with the Central Environmental Authority (CEA), Coast Conservation Department, Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), and other regulatory agencies.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct environmental awareness programmes and training for employees.
  • Prepare environmental reports for management and regulatory authorities.
  • Promote sustainable resource utilization and waste management practices.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of environmental management experience within construction, marine, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Natural Resources Management, or a related discipline.
  • Age: 30 to 50 years.
  • Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken); Sinhala/Tamil will be an added advantage.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, GIS software (preferred), environmental reporting systems, and document management software.

Salary/Benefits

The successful candidates will be offered opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects across Sri Lanka and the Maldives. A Starting Salary of 350,000 LKR.
