Imports Executive - Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC

Role Summary

Singer (Sri Lanka) PLC is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Imports Executive to manage end-to-end import operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures while facilitating seamless coordination between suppliers, banks, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import operations including documentation, shipment handling, and regulatory compliance.
• Obtain and maintain marine insurance, process claims, and coordinate surveys.
• Coordinate with suppliers, commercial banks, and freight partners to ensure timely product availability and cost efficiency.
• Handle LC issuance, amendments, TT processing, DA/DP arrangements, and shipping guarantees.
• Review shipping and banking documents to minimize discrepancies and maintain accurate import trackers, MIS reports, and ERP updates.
• Ensure proper PO creation, amendments, and maintenance of shipment registers.
• Identify and resolve shipment discrepancies.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in import operations, international trade, logistics, supply chain, or trade finance.
• Knowledge of UCP 600, URC 522, Incoterms 2020, and import/export documentation procedures is an advantage.
• Knowledge of marine insurance processes and claim handling is an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.
