Stock Officer

The Stock Officer is responsible for managing and organizing inventory, ensuring that the store's stock is well-maintained, properly stored, and readily available for customers. This role supports the efficient operation of the store by ensuring optimal stock levels, accurate product handling, and smooth stock replenishment processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily stock levels and assist in conducting regular stock counts.
  • Ensure stock is organized, easy to locate, and in good condition.
  • Track product movement, report any discrepancies, and maintain accurate stock records.
  • Receive deliveries and verify quantities against delivery notes.
  • Ensure safe storage in designated areas following proper storage procedures.
  • Record and label stock appropriately for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Maintain sales floor stock levels by replenishing shelves and displays.
  • Rotate stock (FIFO: First In, First Out).
  • Monitor fast-selling products and ensure timely reordering.
  • Assist in arranging products on shelves, ensuring attractive and logical displays.
  • Ensure proper tagging, pricing, and signage are in place for all products.
  • Assist in stock discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Report discrepancies, damages, or other stock-related issues to management.
  • Help in stock forecasting and placing orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Work closely with the store team, especially Sales Associates, to ensure efficient stock management and replenishment.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the store's operational goals.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or any related field.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in stock management or retail operations is desirable.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy stock when required.
  • Basic computer literacy and experience with inventory management software is a plus.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
