Assistant Manager - IT Program / Project Management

Hayleys is building a new generation of supermarkets to redefine convenience, quality and value for consumers. The role is responsible for managing end-to-end IT projects, collaborating with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams, supporting new store IT implementations, and driving project governance, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enable business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end IT projects from initiation, planning, execution, testing, and deployment through to successful completion.
  • Oversee and maintain the IT project portfolio, ensuring effective prioritization, tracking, and reporting of active and future initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards while meeting business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project documentation including project plans, schedules, risk registers, issue logs, status reports, and governance records.
  • Collaborate with business users, technical teams, vendors, and third-party service providers to ensure seamless project delivery and stakeholder alignment.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating critical matters when required.
  • Facilitate project governance activities including project meetings, progress reviews, steering committee presentations, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring business requirements are validated and formal approvals are obtained prior to implementation.
  • Support new store openings and business expansion projects by ensuring all IT systems, infrastructure, connectivity, and technology requirements are delivered on schedule.
  • Promote continuous improvement of project management practices through the implementation of standards, methodologies, templates, performance metrics, and lessons learned.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or a related discipline, with professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent being an added advantage.
  • Minimum proven experience in IT Project Management, Program Management, or a similar role with a demonstrated track record of successfully delivering multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong proficiency in project management and collaboration tools including MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Sharesheet, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Sound understanding of enterprise IT systems and business applications including POS systems, ERP solutions, e-commerce platforms, infrastructure implementations, and change management processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, able to perform effectively in fast-paced and demanding environments.
