Assistant Chemist - Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka PLC
Role Summary
Be part of shaping the quality related efforts at our Kandy Production Plant as an Assistant Chemist. You will drive excellence through hands-on laboratory testing, process optimization, and technical support while accelerating your growth in a professional manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct chemical and physical testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor production operations to ensure adherence to quality, regulatory, and company standards.
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including laboratory materials, chemicals, equipment, and inventory.
- Maintain confidential laboratory records, including test methods, test results, and product formulations.
- Perform frequent visits to the production line and the waste water treatment plant to ensure conformance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, product development, and chemical projects to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Science (with Chemistry as a subject) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized University/Institution.
- Minimum of 02 years work experience in a similar capacity in a manufacturing organization.
- Past experience at a waste water treatment plant, distillery, or liquor manufacturing industry will be an added advantage.
Location
Kandy Production Plant. Candidates residing in close proximity to the Kandy area will be given preference.
