Laboratory Technician

Role Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our QAQC team. The selected candidate will support product development, laboratory testing, trial activities, and quality improvement projects related to cement-based innovative products.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform testing of concrete, cement, aggregates, sand, and admixtures in accordance with relevant standards.
• Conduct fresh and hardened concrete tests and accurately record all test results.
• Ensure timely testing and reporting to support production and customer requirements.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and testing instruments in good working condition.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Assist in laboratory trials, product development, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain laboratory housekeeping, sample traceability, and accurate testing records.
• Coordinate with QA/QC, Production, and Customer Service teams regarding testing activities.
• Support the calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Requirements

• G.C.E. A/L (Mathematics, Science, or Technology Stream).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a concrete, construction materials, or quality control laboratory.
• Hands-on experience in concrete, cement, aggregate, and construction material testing will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of SLS, ASTM, BS, or EN testing standards.
• Good analytical, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work extended hours when required.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Location

The selected candidate will be based at our Head Office in Athurugiriya.
