Lead AI/ML Engineer
Role Summary
Omobio is seeking a highly skilled Lead AI/ML Engineer to spearhead the design and implementation of advanced artificial intelligence solutions. This leadership role involves architecting end-to-end machine learning systems, managing technical lifecycles, and guiding a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver scalable, production-ready products.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Design: Develop comprehensive AI/ML solution architectures, encompassing data pipelines, model training, serving, and monitoring, while balancing scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor and grow a team of engineers, overseeing sprint planning, release management, and maintaining high coding standards through rigorous reviews.
- Engineering Excellence: Write high-quality, maintainable Python code and manage data pipelines and database schemas using tools like Airflow and Spark.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Evaluate build-vs-buy options for ML tools and translate complex business needs into technical roadmaps and stack selections.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a Subject Matter Expert during pre-sales and client meetings, preparing technical proposals, cost estimates, and presenting Proof of Concepts (POCs).
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in AI/ML, data engineering, or software engineering with a focus on ML components. Prior experience in a leadership or architectural capacity is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of DSA, ML frameworks (such as PyTorch or TensorFlow), MLOps, and CI/CD workflows. Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and on-premise deployments is required.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
