Role Summary

Bring your legal and compliance expertise to a role that supports sound governance, strengthens regulatory practices and enables confident business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the company’s lease portfolio.
• Support the Department Head in meeting regulatory reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
• Manage Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism frameworks, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and statutory reporting.
• Draft, review and update internal policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Conduct compliance audits and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
• Provide legal advice to business units and support informed decision-making.
• Monitor and assess emerging regulatory developments and their potential impact on the organisation.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Admission as an Attorney-at-Law, with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience.
• Prior experience in the insurance, banking or financial services sectors would be preferred.
• Practical exposure to legal, regulatory and compliance matters within a corporate environment.
• Familiarity with the insurance industry and the regulatory requirements of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka would be an added advantage.
• Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Proven managerial and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
• Hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism frameworks, and statutory reporting.
