Role Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage the company’s lease portfolio.
- Support the Department Head in meeting regulatory reporting requirements and compliance obligations.
- Manage Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism frameworks, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and statutory reporting.
- Draft, review and update internal policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
- Conduct compliance audits and monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide legal advice to business units and support informed decision-making.
- Monitor and assess emerging regulatory developments and their potential impact on the organisation.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Admission as an Attorney-at-Law, with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience.
- Prior experience in the insurance, banking or financial services sectors would be preferred.
- Practical exposure to legal, regulatory and compliance matters within a corporate environment.
- Familiarity with the insurance industry and the regulatory requirements of the Insurance Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka would be an added advantage.
- Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven managerial and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A sound working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism frameworks, and statutory reporting.
