Role Summary

We are seeking dynamic, result-oriented legal professionals for an exciting career opportunity in the banking sector at our Colombo Head Office. We invite applications from competent and motivated Attorneys-at-Law with strong expertise in conveyancing, litigation, and commercial documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Conveyancing Unit in land registry-related matters, including title searches and attesting Mortgage Bonds and other Notarial Instruments.
• Support the Litigation Unit by appearing and representing the Bank before Courts and other tribunals (Civil and Criminal).
• Draft, review, and vet commercial agreements and other legal documentation.
• Provide legal opinions and advisory support on various legal matters affecting the Bank.

Candidate Criteria

• Attorney-at-Law and Notary Public authorized to practice within the jurisdiction of Colombo, with a valid Notarial License to practice in English.
• LL.B degree or LL.M or higher qualifications in Law will be a distinct advantage.
• Minimum 6 – 8 years of relevant work experience in a commercial bank, financial institution, or reputable law firm.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience in conveyancing and court proceedings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (proficiency in Tamil will be an added advantage).
• Ability to work efficiently in a computerized environment.
• Strong service orientation, effective time management skills, and the ability to work independently under minimal supervision in high-pressure environments.
