VACANCY - LEGAL OFFICER (HEAD OFFICE / KOHUWALA)

Seeking a proactive and experienced Attorney-at-law to handle legal matters. LCB Finance PLC is one of the best-capitalized finance companies in the non-banking financial institutions sector, under the regulatory supervision of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend courts and other Forums to protect the interests of the company, particularly in relation to the recovery of loans in default.
• Initiate and coordinate timely legal action.
• Draft legal documents and institute and defend legal actions.
• Prepare and review title reports and execution of bonds and other legal instruments.
• Provide legal opinions and advise on matters.
• Negotiate settlements with defaulters / Litigants while safeguarding the interests of the Company.
• Maintain accurate and up to date legal records, case files and related documentation.
• Handle matters related to Land Registries and other relevant government institutions.
• Prepare and review Title Reports, Mortgage Bonds and other legal documents.
• Coordinate with Branches, Recovery Officers, external Attorney-at-Law, and other relevant stakeholders on legal and recovery matters.

Qualifications & Experience

• Attorney-at-law with minimum of 05 years' experience in Court work and notarial work.
• Practical experience in recovery litigation, banking, finance, or a financial institution will be a distinct advantage.
• Sound Knowledge and practical experience in handling conveyancing matters, title reports, Mortgage Bonds and Security documents.
• Computer literacy and ability to work effectively in a computerized office environment.
• Proficiency in Sinhala & English both oral and written.
• Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
