Job Title: Assistant Manager – Legal Department
Role Summary
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC. The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Assistant Manager - Legal Department. The position exists to provide fast-paced, practical legal support to quick service restaurants and retail operations, ensuring legal compliance across restaurant operations, property documentation, franchising arrangements, and dispute management.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth day-to-day quick service restaurant operations by providing timely, practical, and legally compliant advice to restaurants and delivery platform operations.
- Drafting / reviewing all types of commercial contracts and related documentation.
- Initiate/support the business to ensure that the business operates in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Handle convening and notarial work, including carrying out title searches, drafting and attesting of title deeds and documents.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Be an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka and a Notary Public licensed to practice in Colombo in the English Language.
- Possess a minimum of four (04) years of post-qualification experience, including at least two (02) years of hands-on experience in convening and title clearance matters.
- Degree in Law, any other professional qualifications would be considered as an added advantage.
- Demonstrate prior exposure to consumer foods, retail, hospitality, or restaurant environments.
- Knowledge in intellectual property matters, including trademarks and brand usage.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills, negotiation skills, initiative and follow through policies, work under pressure, excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
Salary/Benefits
Remuneration for the above position will be in accordance with the JKH Compensation and Benefits Policy.
