Role Summary

The Quantity Surveyor Marine & Civil Construction will be responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of marine and civil construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered within budget while maintaining quality standards, contractual compliance, and commercial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and tender documentation.
• Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents for accurate cost planning and budgeting.
• Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations and provide commercial recommendations.
• Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budget performance.
• Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, variations, and final accounts.
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, and procurement teams.
• Identify cost risks and recommend value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare commercial reports, cost forecasts, and management presentations.
• Support procurement activities, supplier negotiations, and contract documentation.
• Ensure activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulations.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 10 years in quantity surveying within marine and civil construction projects.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Age: 35 to 45 years.
• Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken); Sinhala/Tamil is an added advantage.
• Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite, Advanced Excel, CostX, CCS Candy, AutoCAD, MS Project, or equivalent software.
• Competencies: Strong commercial awareness, analytical/numerical ability, knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, cost control, negotiation, and stakeholder management.

Salary

Starting Salary: 300,000 LKR.
