Production cum Material Planner

Role Summary

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating production planning and material requirements to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations at Alumex PLC, Sapugaskanda.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage production plans aligned with customer orders, sales forecasts, and capacity constraints.
• Coordinate with sales, procurement, and warehouse teams to align material availability with production schedules.
• Monitor and control material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Track production progress and initiate corrective actions to address deviations.
• Raise and follow up on purchase requisitions for raw materials and consumables.
• Liaise with suppliers and the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
• Prepare and maintain accurate production and material planning reports.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to achieve plant productivity and cost targets.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Completion of an ISMM certificate course, a diploma in production/supply chain management, or any other relevant qualification.
• Experience in a production planning, material planning, or supply chain role in a manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
• Sound understanding of production planning concepts, MRP, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications; experience with ERP systems is desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
